Loni-Anne (LA or Loni) is postpartum doula trained through CAPPA. She joins this profession after 13 years serving as an English Language Arts and Special Education middle school teacher. She graduated college summa cum laude with Commonwealth and Department Honors, and she received her Master’s Degree in Special Education.

In her mid 20s, Loni’s mom passed away unexpectedly, and this event made becoming a mom herself incredibly emotional and challenging. Loni was blessed with bringing her first child into the world this past year through IVF, and she underwent a complicated and scary postpartum recovery, including needing to be hospitalized for postpartum preeclampsia just two days after being discharged. Without the support of her mom, Loni leaned on other women in her village to help her navigate these processes, and it was then that she developed a passion for helping parents and their newborns.

Her motto in life, which she got tattooed on her arm after having Lucia, is “Just Keep Swimming,” and it is this motto that has helped her navigate her difficult perinatal process. She is excited to help any parent(s) who feel they would be a good fit.
